State Highway 99 (the Grand Parkway) totals 184-miles traversing through 7 counties in the Greater Houston area. Conceptualized in the early 1960s, it is divided into 11 segments. The project will improve the aesthetics of SH 99; this segment will substantially increase capacity along SH 99 with tolled lanes in each direction between US 59 to I-10 and four additional toll lanes from I-10 to SH 146. The project included acquisition of easements through 375 land parcels, 73 new bridges, with the utilization of 225,000 CY Structural Concrete and 2.6 million CY Concrete Paving.  Segments H and I-1 includes 54-miles of a controlled access toll facility from I-69/US 59 North (the Eastex Freeway) near New Caney, to US 90 near Dayton, to I-10 East (the East Freeway) near Mont Belvieu. This segment traverses through Montgomery, Harris, Liberty, and Chambers counties.
