AGG has performed numerous barge projects over lakes and rivers.  AGG teams with a subcontractor driller that has a "State-of-the-Art" barge with mounted drill rig that is routinely used on AGG projects to perform subsurface exploration services over water.  The barge has a built in "mud" pit to facilitiate the drilling operations.  The barge, when in use, is supported by four (4) legs and is lifted and elevated.  The barge is stable (not affected by the waves) and accurate SPT and TxDOT cone penetrometer tests are obtained.  For other barge equipment that is not stablized in this manner, the barges are affected by wave action and it is difficult to nearly impossible to obtain accurate penetrometer test results.  Our barge has been used on projects ranging from relatively deep lakes and rivers to relatively shallow ponds.
