This paper addresses the practicality and effectiveness of double-liming Eagle Ford Shaley Clay soils having high soluble sulfates. The paper addresses the construction difficulties of the double liming process and post-construction effectiveness of the process. The paper addresses long term swell studies comparing swell characteristics of the Eagle Ford Shaley Clay with lime and without lime. The paper also addresses climatic conditions when sulfate induced heave has occurred after single liming and double liming applications.
